sushi
window dressing,
weight assessing,
hanging up the bears.
peg removing,
son disapproving,
tipping up the chairs.
friends again, the moment passed...
(stormy thoughts neither linger, nor last).
so, smackerels we scoff
1...2...3... off
to the library we go.
funny heel walking,
giggling and talking,
just moseying along.
they go one way, I another,
then we discover
william and matilda's slate.
we calculate and we debate
what was their fate?
five children in eight years
(they must have shed tears).
and as the day draws to a close,
what do you spoze?
"my voice is ugly", says she.
"don't believe everything you think", says me.
so i told her the tale of the sushi dishes
riding around on the belt,
just passing by.
... sometimes it all looks yummy...
... sometimes it all looks crummy...
depends on our eyeballs, in that moment.
but all of it is just passing by,
unless we Pick It Up.
